If you find dead birds you should contact DFW, but they don't say anything about reporting birds with symptoms.

No update that I've seen from DFW so far on whether its still of concern. I haven't seen many finches around since we dramatically curtailed our feeders, but I haven't seen any birds with symptoms in any event. As fall approaches, it will subside in the cooler weather.

Thanks for the tip Jonathan. I hadn't seen the adults other than the Chickadees in the first picture, so its hard to tell. Now that I look at the House Wren, http://www.birds.cornell.edu/AllAboutBirds/BirdGuide/House_Wren_dtl.html ,
I think you're probably right!

These little guys look a lot more like the adults shown there. Now I've got to find the darned parents!

I am currently writing a little newsletter for my business and this month it is about the Flicker (since that's my favorite bird). I came across your post while researching and just had to drop you a note and say - wonderful pictures! They really are beautiful birds. The tail support does help them out: My red-bellied woodpecker frequents my feeder a lot more now that I have provided him a feeder with tail support. I keep waiting for my Flicker to try it out but he just sticks to the ants in the garden and I'm not complaining, he can eat them all!
